Rachel Veenkamp BS
Rachel Veenkamp is a dedicated psychology practicum trainee with a passion for helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve emotional well-being. With a prior background as a first responder, Rachel brings a unique perspective to her practice. Currently pursuing her doctorate in clinical psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, she is committed to staying at the forefront of the field and incorporating evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into her work.
Rachel has experience in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, psychological evaluation and testing, family conflict, and grief. Rachel strives to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their concerns. Rachel’s treatment philosophy revolves around empowering her clients to become self-sufficient. Rachel believes that with the right tools and commitment, individuals can make significant progress in their mental health journey.
Rachel has worked extensively with LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and couples, providing affirming and inclusive therapy. During sessions, she fosters a highly interactive and communicative approach, emphasizing the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship. Rachel’s genuine compassion, empathy, and ability to create a comfortable space allow clients to feel understood and supported in their healing process. She understands that therapy isn’t easy, but with dedication and hard work, a client can overcome obstacles and experience transformative growth.
