Nora Josephson LPC AMFT
Nora Josephson graduated with her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2013 from the University of Denver. Nora obtained a second Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University in 2021. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Colorado and an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist in California. She is a Foundationally Trained DBT clinician and enthusiastic about applying DBT skills in her clinical work and personal life. Nora has worked in a variety of mental health settings including: inpatient, partial-hospitalization and outpatient. She has experience working with depression, eating disorders, substance dependence, anxiety and other mental health concerns.
Nora is passionate about her role as a helper. She has an integrated approach to therapy with an emphasis on Dialectical Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and Solution-Focused techniques. Nora excels at providing a safe and accepting environment to help individuals overcome struggles with relationships, addictions, depression, mood changes, emotion dysregulation, anxiety, life adjustments, and trauma.
Nora is an avid believer in whole wellness. She educates and encourages her clients to engage in self-care and whole wellness practices. Nora became a certified yoga instructor in 2010 and since then she has taken two more yoga teacher trainings.
At DBT Center of Orange County, Nora supports our clinical programming, conducts quality assurance, creates social media content, and facilitates individual and group DBT sessions. She also supervises DBTOC’s mindfulness instructors and supports the mindfulness curriculum for Intensive Outpatient Program.
