DBT Program Clinician and Skills Facilitator

Irvin Navarrete is an Associate of Marriage and Family Therapy (AMFT) and Associate of Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) in the state of California under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Lyndon. He has practiced in outpatient and inpatient substance abuse rehabilitation and community mental health settings. Irvin has worked with high-risk children, adolescents, adults, and families. He has experience working with dual diagnosis, addiction, trauma, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral and conduct disorders. He is certified in the Incredible Years (IY) parenting program and has extensively trained in Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Irvin is a Foundationally Trained DBT Clinician and is working towards DBT Certification. He is bilingual and speaks fluent English and Spanish.

Irvin received his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University Fullerton in 2017. He is currently working on his Clinical Psychology Doctorate (PsyD) at Pepperdine University. He values research, education, and training, especially evidence-based treatment models. Irvin is passionate about his clinical work and enjoys working with individuals across the lifespan through individual, family, or group therapy. His approach is collaborative, strength-based, and culturally sensitive. With DBT being a proven effective evidence-based practice for a variety of presenting problems, Irvin looks forward to collaborating with clients and help them build a Life Worth Living.
