Cindy Nguyen PsyD
Dr. Cindy Nguyen is a bilingual Registered Psychological Associate and Post-Doctoral Associate at DBT Center of Orange County under the supervision of Dr. Sarah Lyndon. She obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the APA-accredited Alliant International University. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship at Western Youth Services (WYS). Cindy has practiced in the field of psychology for the past seven years. She has served individuals across the lifespan with chronic and complex trauma, mood disorders, and substance use in diverse settings, including Intensive Outpatient Programs, Community Mental Health, School-Based Programs, hospitals, and private practices. She also has experience providing therapy in individual, family, and group formats.
Cindy enjoys assisting young adults in finding a Life Worth Living. She is passionate about teaching her clients to live meaningful and fulfilling lives by replacing destructive, impulsive habits with effective emotional regulation and interpersonal skills. In sessions, Cindy provides a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space for her clients while holding clients accountable to foster growth and healing.
Cindy is certified in Seeking Safety and has extensive training in other evidenced-based treatments, including Functional Family Therapy (FFT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and working towards becoming foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She values conducting comprehensive psychological assessments to provide diagnostic clarification, highlight the client’s strengths, and offer valuable treatment recommendations while considering the client’s cultural identities and personality styles.
Cindy practices what she preaches outside the office by indulging in self-care activities to harness the mind-body-spiritual connection. She enjoys cycling, boxing, practicing hot yoga, and exploring new coffee shops.
