Pride 2020

DBT Center of Orange County is not only proud to treat our clients from the LGBTQ+ Community, we are honored to celebrate their experiences during Pride Month 2020. COVID-19 may have put a damper on the traditional ways the community celebrates; however, it did not hinder the passion behind what pride stands for. This year’s Pride celebration is unique in that it occurred in tandem with the Black Lives Matter movement that encapsulated the importance of intersectionality and minority stress, which reiterates the crucial need for social justice for ALL human beings. This is reflective of the history of Pride which all began at Stonewall with LGBTQ+ people of color advocating and fighting for their rights. It is so powerful and beautiful to see this tradition of collective celebration and advocacy continue, and our clinicians are proud to be a part of that movement. At DBT Center of Orange County, we strive to deliver multiculturally competent care for all of our clients and want to highlight that all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities are welcome.
