Belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community can be a beautiful thing, and dialectically speaking, this experience may also bring a myriad of different challenges. In this graduate group we will discuss the intricacies of the coming out process, navigating minority stress, how to respond to microaggressions, living a life that affirms your own unique identity, LGBTQIA+ specific self-compassion and acceptance, establishing a sense of community, and recovering from invalidation.

Addictive Behaviors Advanced DBT Group

The DBT-AB skills group is an Advanced Skills Group for people who have familiarity with skills and have completed a DBT Skills group. This group is geared towards people struggling with addictive behaviors (AB). This group combines DBT-SUD and DBT skills with Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention for Addictive Behaviors in a 6 week two hour curriculum which is held weekly. This group is ideal for clients who are wanting to create a Life Worth Living and are highly motivated to make the necessary changes that lead to less suffering.

The advanced group is for those who have completed at least one round of skills group and want to dive deeper into DBT. We will review selected skills and introduce additional ones, plus spend time reflecting on and discussing the challenges of using skills in difficult moments.

DBT Skills Workshop for Loved Ones

Parents and other loved ones of those struggling with emotional regulation and interpersonal challenges are invited to learn DBT skills, whether or not their loved one is engaged with DBT themselves, has a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, or becomes easily emotionally dysregulated. This course will teach skills that can help people learn to more effectively support others in their life as well as increase their own emotion regulation abilities when stressful events occur.
