My family and I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Michele Lob and the DBT Center of Orange County during one of the more difficult periods of our lives. It is so incredibly difficult to have a child diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and all the ups and downs that go with it. To have a support system like this helps one feel not so alone in the world.
I’m still learning and know I need to practice my DBT skills, but it is amazing when they do work and you see a bit of improvement, or a better reaction than you expected – it’s almost fun to see it work! Our daughter has related so well to Michele, one of the first Therapists she’s truly felt comfortable with, which is so important that they have that trust.
Michele does a wonderful job of balancing patient and family, and providing all with the support they so badly need when going through these crises. I’ve gotten a lot out of Courtney’s Family Groups, and it is comforting to know you’re not alone in dealing with this. I can’t say or recommend this group of Therapists highly enough and will always thank them for being there when we needed them.

I met Dr. Lob in August of 2013 shortly after I had been released from the hospital for an attempted suicide. I was bruised, battered, and nearly convinced that I was broken and utterly beyond repair. Fortunately, Dr. Lob knew that and put me to work. Simple in practice, but certainly not easy, DBT has changed my life. It has both illuminated the nature of my pain and provided a means to tolerate distress; constructively. Today I am able to handle situations that previously would have caused me to spin out and to do so in a way that is productive; something that seemed impossible six months ago. The amount of gratitude I hold to both Michele and the DBT center is immeasurable.

I can honestly say that DBT has changed my life. I am almost 30 years old, and feeling like the luckiest lady on earth to have learned DBT skills before my mile stone birthday. Thank you so much Dr. Lob and the DBT Center of Orange County for making such a difference!

This is what our patients are saying about our DBT Intensive Outpatient Program.
This course has challenged my life in more ways than I can think of!! From the mindful movement, to art therapy, skills training, – I will carry with me and utilize day in and day out. I have learned that not everything has to be black and white, and I constantly have to ask myself “What else could be true?” (thank you Kathy!), I try to give people the benefit of the doubt more and my goal is to live a mindful life with much positivity and kindness.
